The procedure is done under local anesthesia, so you won't feel pain during the surgery. Afterward there may be mild swelling, managed with the medication we prescribe.
From implant placement to the final crown, the process can take 3 to 6 months — the time needed for the bone to firmly integrate with the implant.
In some cases a prior bone graft is needed to ensure enough support. This is assessed with diagnostic imaging before planning the implant.
With good hygiene, regular checkups and healthy gums, a well-integrated implant can last many years, even a lifetime.
